We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team at Serilus Kft, a leading renewable energy wholesale trading company based in Budapest, Hungary. As a key player in the renewable energy sector, we are looking for an individual with a solid accounting background and a passion for sustainability and clean energy.

Responsibilities:

• Handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
• Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and accruals.
• Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns, VAT filings, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and support decision-making processes.
• Assist in the development and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Conduct periodic financial audits and assist with external audits.
• Stay updated on accounting regulations, industry standards, and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the energy industry or renewable energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, including IFRS or Hungarian accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of renewable energy certificates, subsidies, and grants is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Hungarian is required; additional language skills are a plus.
